Maybe, but it is an extremely important job as well. Human Resources is the gatekeeper for the company, ensuring that the company finds and selects the best candidates for openings, and that those people are welcomes into the company community and informed of support offered by the company. Unlike finance which is numbers based, HR has a lot of grey area. I also came from a finance background and I really enjoy being in HR (even though some days can be emotionally tiring dealing in employee relations). I enjoy working with people and think it can be an exciting and rewarding career.

HR is who tracks the gaps and needs on the larger scale also looking at future needs rather than just those of today. HR are those in the company that most generally hold the skills to track and stay current with the changes in laws and legislature in regards to employees per the bigger picture.
